Spreadsheet-ready copies of our price datasets. Open them in Excel, Google Sheets, LibreOffice, R or Python. Free to reuse under CC BY 4.0 with a credit to UtilityPrices.

Every file is UTF-8, comma-separated, with one header row and no comment lines. Units are in the column names (_p_per_kwh is pence per kWh, _p_per_day pence per day, _gbp_per_year pounds a year). Each row repeats its source_url and licence, so the provenance stays with the data when you copy rows elsewhere. Please credit “Data: UtilityPrices” with a link to the page named below; see licence and attribution.

Tips for using the files

  • Price cap files are replaced when Ofgem announces a new cap; the business file with each quarterly DESNZ release. Use the date columns to label your charts and keep old copies if you need a time series.
  • Regional rates are derived from Ofgem’s published annual cap levels, so they can differ from a supplier’s tariff by a fraction of a penny. Typical annual costs are our calculation: usage × unit rate + 365 × standing charge.
  • Business prices are averages of what businesses paid across existing contracts, excluding VAT. Do not add a standing charge to them.
  • Water bills are not available to download because their publishers’ terms do not allow republishing the data. Why →
