Bills between 2025 and 2030

What the average does and does not tell you
- It is a forecast average across all South Staffs Water household customers in each area, not a tariff or a quote.
- With a water meter, your bill depends on how much water you use. Without one, it usually depends on the property, for example its rateable value or an assessed charge.
- It covers water supply only. Sewerage is provided by a different company and is not included in this average.
- The company collects sewerage charges on behalf of Anglian Water in its Cambridge region and Severn Trent in its South Staffs region.
- Business customers have separate charges; this page covers household bills.

If you’re struggling to pay
Social tariffs
Every water company in England and Wales has a social tariff that can reduce bills for people on low incomes. Who qualifies and how much it saves depend on the company, so ask yours. CCW also advises contacting your company early if you are falling behind, and Water Direct lets people already in debt pay through their benefits. CCW: help with bills ↗
WaterSure
WaterSure caps the bill of metered households who receive a qualifying benefit, such as Universal Credit, Housing Benefit or Pension Credit, and either have three or more children under 19 at home or use extra water because of a medical condition. The government announced in 2026 that it will widen eligibility and support; CCW expects the changes in 2027. CCW: what is WaterSure? ↗
Water meters
Switching to a meter can lower the bill for smaller households. CCW says meters are usually fitted free and you can switch back to unmetered charges within 24 months, except in areas of England with compulsory metering.
